To allow our developer to work with your Shopify store, there’s no need to share a login or password. Shopify lets you securely grant access through roles and permissions.

Below is a step-by-step guide.

How to grant access to Shopify

Step 1. Sign in to Shopify Admin

1. Go to: https://admin.shopify.com.

2. Sign in using the store owner account or a user with permission to manage access.

Step 2. Open user management

In the left-hand menu, go to “Settings”“Users and permissions”.

Step 4. Add a new user

1. Click “Add staff” or “Add user” (the label may vary slightly).

2. Enter the developer’s email address from RegisTeam: [email protected].

Step 4. Assign the required permissions

Choose one of the following options:

Option A. Recommended (custom permissions)

Select “Customize permissions” and grant access only to the sections required for the task, for example:

  • Online Store (themes, pages, navigation, files)
  • Apps and channels (if needed)
  • Products (if work with products is required)
  • Settings (only if explicitly agreed in advance)

This option is secure and sufficient for most development tasks.

Option B. Full access (only by prior agreement)

Select “Full permissions”.

Step 5. Send the invitation

1. Click “Send invite”.

2. The developer will receive an email invitation and must accept it.

Step 6. Verify access

After the invitation is accepted, the user will appear in the “Users and permissions” list with the assigned role.

How to change or revoke access

At any time, you can:

  • change a user’s access permissions;
  • temporarily suspend access;
  • completely remove a user from the list.

This is done in “Settings”“Users and permissions”.
